(A) Bamboo: mainly from bamboo resources, nurturing seedlings and saplings, creating a forest of bamboo, bamboo, bamboo, bamboo Glulam, bamboo quality wood-based panel, bamboo-based composite materials, and daily bamboo products, handicrafts, and other bamboo area of formulating and revising standards.
(B) vine: mainly from rattan seedlings, rattan resources nurturing, rattan, rattan bamboo shoots, rattan furniture and bamboo handicrafts, rattan comprehensive utilization, and other aspects standards in eight aspects of formulating and revising standards.

The bamboo productions are often exported to the developed countries,what plays the important role in the promotion of the economic development of the developing countries. However, the only limiting factor is it is unfamiliar with the bamboo production of the developed countries. At present, the international bamboo organization is working on the verification of setting down the national standard of bamboo, and one of its main tasks is to do research on the technical parameter and norms. The international standard model cannot be designed because of the unknown of the bamboo. Once the standard is worked out, it is easy to export, especially those green productions which are friendly to the environment.
The principles the standard should be followed are:

(1)Bamboo: The revising standards focus on the
bamboo resources, seedlings and seedling nurturing, creating a forest of bamboo, bamboo, integrated bamboo, bamboo-based synthetic board, bamboo-based composite materials, daily bamboo products, handicrafts, and so on.
(2)Vine: The revising standards focus on the rattan seedlings, rattan resources nurturing, rattan, rattan bamboo shoots, rattan furniture, bamboo handicrafts, rattan comprehensive utilization, and other standards in eight aspests.

The bamboo products are usually being exported to the developed countries, which boosts up the economic development of the developing countries. At present time, the International Network for Bamboo and Rattan (INBAR) is conducting the research of developing the international standard of bamboo products, one of its primary missions is to thoroughly investigate the related technical parameters and standards. Because the understanding of bamboo is still insufficient now, an international standard still cannot be designed yet. Once the worldwide international standard is developed, the exportations will become easier, espcially because the bamboo products are mostly environmental-friendly green products.
The formulation of bamboo and rattan standards should follow the principles below:
(1) enhancing planting technology
(2) protecting the environment, the amount of processing waste and each type of pollutant produced should be limited in an acceptable level
(3) reducing production cost
(4) protecting the health and safety of the consumers, as well as personnels working at the production sites of the bamboo products
(5) market demand
The preliminary ideas of establishing the bamboo and rattan standard system:
(1) Bamboo: Mainly developing the revision of the standard from the aspects of bamboo resources, seedling and seedling cultivation, bamboo afforestation, bamboo shoots, bamboo wood, bamboo composite wood, bamboo artificial boards, bamboo compound materials, bamboo commodities, bamboo handicrafts, etc.
(2) Rattan: Mainly developing the revision of the standard from rattan seedling, rattan resources cultivation, rattan strips, rattan shoots, rattan furnitures, rattan handicrafts, comprehensive utilization of rattan, etc.
