My Essay about Joe, My Friend
Joe struggles with autism every day. He is teased, forced to face obstacles every day of his life, and struggles to stay positive at all times. It amazes people how much he is still able to smile through all of the ups and downs that comes with being autistic. Joe has never had any trouble talking about his disability to others. Nor has he ever taken anything that has been negatively said about him to heart. People began to wonder if that smile was forced or if it is true smile. If they truly knew Joe then they would know that he is one of the happiest most humble people to ever live. Joe is the strongest person due to his ability to overcome bullying, achieve success despite his disability, and to face every challenge thrown his way with a smile on his face.
Joe has always been bullied from day one going into school. Kids teased and tormented him from the way he talked and acted. Despite all the criticism that was thrown his way, Joe never let it get to him once. At an early age he learned that the only people that mattered were the ones that have always been there to help him better himself. He always knew since he was really young that he was a little different from the other kids in many ways. The way he sounded, and the speed he was moving physically and intellectually. He noticed that he couldn’t handle the enjoyment of gatherings with many people. The noise bothered him for some reason and he knew that it was his disability. People call him slow, dumb, stupid, and idiot very often. Not knowing that he understands what they are saying no matter what pace they say it at. Joe faces his being bullied very well. He continued to attend gatherings but by handling his sensitivity to the noise by wearing earplugs. People who come up to talk to him slowly he purposely speak slower than usual back to mimic them the way they are mimicking him. Not only is Joe handle being bullied very well, he handles it well enough to laugh about...

... “Can you imagine? I mean to say, here you have a city with the world’s most pathologically aggressive drivers -- who in other circumstances would be given injections of valium from syringes the size of basketball jumps and confined to their beds with leather straps -- and you give them an open space where they can all go in any of thirteen directions at once. Is that asking for trouble or what?”
Interspersed are salient comments about traveling on European trains. “There
is no scope for privacy and of course there is nothing like being trapped in a train compartment on a long journey to bring all those unassuageable little frailties of the human body crowding to the front of your mind – the withheld fart, the three and a half square yards of boxer shorts that have somehow become concertinaed between your buttocks, the Kellogg’s corn flake that is unaccountably lodged deep in your left nostril,”. . .and rude comments about the Swiss: “What do you call a gathering of boring people in Switzerland? Zurich.”
He reveals some funny stories about himself. “I had no gift for woodworking. Everyone else in the class was building things like cedar chests and oceangoing boats and getting to play with dangerous and noisy power tools, but I had to sit at the Basics Table with Tubby Tucker and a kid who was so stupid that I don't think we ever learned his name. We just called him 'Drooler.' The three of us weren't allowed anything more...

...Eating only vegetables is not bad for our heath and also it is healthy and they don’t have a lot of fat or something we don’t need too much.
In addition, it would contribute toward saving living organisms because the less people eat animal’s meat, the more animals would be kept from becoming extinction. Animals also have feelings and it shouldn’t be taken for granted to kill them recklessly. Although I’m not vegetarian, I think the breeding, cow, poke, and chicken for
our food, is too much for actual amount of our consumption.
Actually, I won’t be vegetarian and I like to eat meat, but it is up to person if they will be or not, and there’s no reason to say being vegetarian is bad. Anyway, all you have to be care about is make sure if it is the right way to live as a vegetarian. If it makes you feel frustrated, you don’t have to force yourself to be a vegetarian....
...My name is Pijittra Kateraksa. I was born and raised in the beautiful city of monkeys called “Lopburi”, which located in Thailand and was part of the Asia. I was born on October 19, 1993.I am a senior at Pibulwittayalai High School. I am a good student with a 3.6 grade point average. I am so proud to say that I am a hard working and dedicated student. I’ve always put my best in everything that I.ve done academically. I am not the type of person who gets put up
to a big challenge and backs down.
When I look at this picture of myself, I realize how much I've grown and changed, not only physically, but also mentally as a person in the last couple of years. I’m thinking about enrolling in Faculty of Liberal Arts at Chiang-Mai University which is my best university ever. It has a good reputation with very qualified instructors. And I’m sure that if I were a Chaing-Mai University student, It will prepare me to make it appoint to become a flight attendant. I believe a great amount of effort, patience, and practice to Chiang-Mai University and myself can get what I want to be.
On the surface I think I am like most young and modern Thai women: I take school seriously, I have dreams and goals for the future that I am determined to make happen, and I don’t expect anyone to do the hard work for me. But there is only one thing that I can tell you who I am and how different I am. I am not
kind of person who giving up...
...Have you ever heard of the word “destiny”. Well, of course you could’ve red that word somewhere. Three-year-olds have heard of that too. So, what is it? There are just certain thoughts when you hear words like that. For kids, they would say it’s all about Cinderella and Ariel and any Disney princesses and cartoons that make people fantasize and believe that dreams do come true, right? But let’s have it the other way around. No child play, just plain serious and sensible talk.
Destiny is something not played, it would play with you and you’ll never like what happens next.
Its mere existence depends on people’s variations. Destiny. Come on! Destiny? It is not planned, it is never a coincidence. Ever heard of this quote:
“There are no coincidences in this world, it could’ve been destiny playing along with people”. I don’t know who said that nor I even care on his biography… but whoever thought of that plain statement is a sworn genius.
Now, let’s have some talk about deeper sense.
Fiction novels no matter how great of a fantasy it is have roots coming from reality. They say that those two realms clash, but I don’t think so.
Every single character described by the author has his/her basis on people around him/her. Now, where on earth can we relate this thing to destiny? Simple! Many books have plots revolving on this word—mostly, romance novels of course. When the guy meets the girl and the guy is the long lost son of the girl’s stepmother, or...
...I decided to write my essay about the positive and negative aspects of my generation because I can write more thoroughly about a subject that is affecting me, than about something I have no real connection with.
Every new generation is different from the one that perceded it, but today the difference is very marked indeed. The gap between the different generations is widening and the children growing up at
our time have to face many problems that did not even exist in the past.
This generation is split up in two completely different groups of interest, on the one hand those seeking a career and recognition and on the other hand those who are just interested in having fun.
On the one side the young people of today are better educated, they have more money and they enjoy more freedom. They are able to grow up more quickly and are not so dependent on their parents because they think more for themselves and do not accept the ideals of their elders. The young generation is questioning the assumptions of their parents and disturbing their complacency. They take leave to doubt that the older generations have created the best of all possible worlds. What they reject more than everything is conformity as for example, office hours or clothing. They ask themselves why violent means are part of our world and why so many elders are unhappy and guilt-ridden in their personal lives. The young...
... When I began thinking differently I realized I really do have some valuable
talents. I’m talented because I am able to Observe, Multitask and learn quickly.
My first talent is that I observe what is around me. I consider myself observation
when I couldn’t understand the language I started observing everything that was around me. This
help me adapt myself within the education system of the United States. At the beginning it was
hard because I was kind of depending on others. I don’t like to depend on other, but as I started
to look what was happening I developed the capacity to observe my surroundings. Every year, I
am adding more experience to his talent. I know that this will help me in the career that I want to
My second talent is to multitask. I’m able to focus on two thing at the same time. When I
was in Dominican Republic I developed this skill. My teacher there challenged me all the time
by giving me multiple work to focus on at the same time. They just give me an hour to finish.
This skill helps me a lot when I transfer to United State by adding more practice. This skill
became a talent in my second year in high school. I was able to do multiple assignment s work
but also listen to the information that the teacher was giving in the class. I realized that
multitasking helped me pass all of my classes.
...When God created man, he also created other living creatures and every living creature has their own right to be on this planet. However , we humans being the superior in power and thoughts, somehow forget these things most of the time. Some people think that animals do deserve the rights
while other thinks that they are more for food and medical research.
Animals, like any other living creature also have the same feelings and experience the same depth of love
and pain like we humans. If you careful notice, all pets, irrespective of being a bird or an animal, when loved deeply, they return their love in many folds.
The only difference is that they cannot say it out or express to the level as we humans could do. When tamed and looked after well, th even sacrifice their lives for us. Such pure and true is their love for their masters, that many a times, humans do not realize.
Most of the time, on seeing an animal, people are the thought of either harming them fearing the danger, or think of killing them. What does one gain when they do this kind of act? They are just being taken for granted and various acts are performed that in fact tortures the animals both physically and mentally.
There were times when horses pulled carriages, dogs herding sheep, and many other animals that have helped in building homes and shelters and supporting families. However with the advancing of time, things have changed.
