PAUL: Paul
Castronovo
YOUNG RON: Young Ron Brewer
KELLY: Kelly Craig
PAUL: Hi Tom,
Paul: 嗨, Tom
Tom: Hello
PAUL: Welcome to the studio.
Tom: Thank you
PAUL: See, Once again when the beautiful British accent starts, I
feel intimate. He is obviously not only more handsome but more intelligent than
all of us unless let us just rules.
Tom: That’s not true. There is some strange conception.
Tom:
YOUNG RON: You are definitively more handsome
YOUNG RON:
Tom: No no no no no
Tom:
YOUNG RON: Take a look around the room
YOUNG RON:
PAUL: Listen, I didn’t shame. But never the less, Tom Hiddleston,
now Tom, may I?
Tom: Yes you may
Tom:
(Play Midnight in Paris melody)
PAUL & Tom: aha
PAUL & Tom:啊
Tom: Lovely
PAUL: I’ve known you like it. The theme song from the film “Midnight
in Paris”. You are F. Scot Fitzgerald You know we are talking about your past
because of the Avengers please. But what a fantastic Film?
Tom: Thank you so much.
Tom:
PAUL: And you were amazing in the movie. And you know you have the
English accent, but I didn’t realize
Tom: I am an English actor
Tom:
PAUL: But it makes sense, yeah, but in that Film, you played
Tom: F. Scott Fitzgerald
Tom: F·
PAUL: A fine American
Tom: A fine literal Icon I believe
Tom:
PAUL: Very true
PAUL: 没错
Tom: It was my privilege you know one of the most exciting time of
my live because
YOUNG RON: It is Woody Allen
YOUNG RON:
Tom: It’s Woody Allen, and I didn’t meet him until I actually got on
the set. And the crazy thing I was in Paris for 2 weeks, and in Paris when you
walk around, there’s all these. You know such a culture city. There are so many
artists who’ve live there, and the city celebrates that. As you walk down the
street outside so many material shops there are posters for sale outside on the
paven on the sidewalk And they are basically pictures of icons. So you go
through there you got Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, John Lennon and behind John Lennon,
10, 20 of Woody Allen. And I was walking around Paris
Tom: and listening to an audio book of the great Gatsby. Just get my
head in it
Tom:
PAUL: Cool
Tom: And you go to stop often you know to get some coffee and Woody starring
you down from the poster on the sidewalk. And you think I will go to work with
this man tomorrow.
YOUNG RON: Why would he not…why would you not audition in front of
Woody Allen? Why would you just get the job without meeting him first?
YOUNG RON:
PAUL: Maybe he is not the casting director
Tom: Ehehehehe
Tom:
PAUL: He know nothing about the film industry
YOUNG RON: Apparently not. You know he would be in on that
YOUNG RON:
Tom: He often time he does that. I think he saw a rear of work what
I have done in England. And I have done lots of period stuff. I have often been
casted in 20th or 30th for some reason. One of the
earliest things I did, I played Winston Churchill’s son Randolph in a movie about
the 20’th
PAUL: Did you go to high school with him, Randolph?
YOUNG RON: Winston Churchill
YOUNG RON:
PAUL: His son
PAUL:他儿子
Tom: hahahaha
Tom:
KELLY: It just amazes me how English actor like yourself can do such
a perfect American accent
PAUL: What does amaze you if an American actor attempt to do English
accent like Kama
Kross, it’s just like (British accent) “How are you? It’s so good to
KELLY: Dick Van Dyke
Tom: That’s very good! It is one of the better one I have heard,
better than Dick Van Dyke in
Mary Poppins. Let’s face it. No I love Dick Van Dyke, but what you did, it is
better what he did
PAUL: He was the chimney sweep.
Tom: He was, yeah
Tom:
PAUL: That was Cockney accent, right?
Tom: Yeah, You have did that kind of Cockney accent just that.
Tom:
PAUL: I think I did the character from
YOUNG RON: Well, Dick Van Dyke sure can dance
YOUNG RON:
Tom: He can. Listen, I grew up watching that film, so I say that
with pounds of respect. But I should just sort of answer your question.
(pointing to Kelly)
YOUNG RON: Please
YOUNG RON:请继续
Tom: The interesting about that particular accent is I listened to
some tapes of real recording of 20th and 30th. And on the
east coast the particular kind of educated American with particular kind of, I
guess, in England to our shame, we called it class. You know and he was…
Fitzgerald went to Princeton. It was amazing how middle Atlantic they sounded
PAUL: (some strange English accent) Better than those they, Kelly, would
they speak like this then. The American. They didn’t know the American indeed
talk like that…
Tom: In England they did.
Tom:
PAUL: Who is more like that?
Tom: That’ actually British people. That’s David Niven
Tom:
PAUL: How do we do that?
KELLY: (US east coast accent)Oh, Would you try to be a Mary. It is
more their King you see, it not how they say, it’s what they said
Tom: (in US east coast accent too) Alright, Absolutely! I remember,
I remember watching Citizen Kane and Olson Wilson had some freedom line. I don’t know how to pick
to Mrs Fedger
I’d try that I can think of
PAUL: hahahahaha
YOUNG RON:hahahahaha
YOUNG RON:
Tom: (still is US east coast accent) It’s the way that everything is
role of the time
PAUL: Some kind of Kane’s, they speak like this, yeah
Tom: (still is US east coast accent) It’s a kind of Jamie Stuart who’s
doing this
PAUL:wawawa, Jamie Stuart was more like this(another accent)
Tom: (change to the same accent like a) Jamie Stuart, is going to
Washington, no, no, It’s not my job. I’ I am trying to do my best
PAUL: So you are really, Tom Hiddleston, You’re really a student of
Tom: I am, I am a fan boy at first. Actor as second, yeah
Tom:
PAUL: So you’re living a dream right now.
Tom: I am living A dream. The people I’ve worked for last 12 months
or last 24 months have just experiences.
PAUL: Just look at you now, I kick myself because I haven’t seen
Thor. But I will
Tom: That’s OK
Tom:没关系
PAUL: But I will. Because you put 50 pounds of muscle on
Tom: Ehe, no, not 50, 20.
Tom:
PAUL: What the hell, (省略网站名) and all of this .I have seen 3
different pages that you put 50 pounds to play Loki
百,,科,I M,,D。。 YOUNG RON: To play Thor actually
YOUNG RON:
PAUL: Thor, Thor, yeah
Tom: Yes, that’s right. You’ve got a picture of your computer. So I
initially audition for Thor, I’m 6 foot 2, and blond naturally
PAUL: Well your Loki took my breath away, please continue
KELLY: Me too.
KELLY:我也是
Tom: Those were my credential in a way to audition to the role of
Tom:
PAUL: The big guy
Tom: Yeah, the big guy. Thor is the god of thunder. He brings the
hummer down on the earth, and he creates the storm. And I knew Kenneth Branagh
who directed it, because I knew him from the theater. We worked in the theater
in London together, and so I kind of audition all the way to screen test to
play Thor. And they said, you know you would have to put on muscle, you would
look like the God of Thunder. You know would you hit the Gem, and do your best.
So I went from 179 Pounds to 199 Pounds.
PAUL: OK, it’s not like you went up to 285 and go to be “wohhhhhhhhhh”
Tom: No I didn’t like. So it wasn’t a Wrestle Maniac.
Tom:
YOUNG RON: But I think you didn’t get the job.
YOUNG RON:
Tom: I didn’t get the job. But it was so wonderful with the
producers. It’s sort of half way there. Here are 2 characters, who are
brothers, and they are 2 half of the same hole. 2 sides of the same coin. Thor
is a kind of, he is the quarterback, you know someone is athletic. He has a
native ability to him, a native athletics. L he is a little
bit more complicated, more intelligent, more sophisticated in a kind of, in a
more artists way basically. So they thought that was better fit for me and a
way, the film changed my life. And it was after that I went to work for Woody Allen
PAUL: After that?
PAUL:那以后?
Tom: Yeah yeah.
Tom:对对。
YOUNG RON: So would you like a villain better than a hero?
YOUNG RON:
Tom: Well, someone said the devil play always the best tunes.
Tom:
YOUNG RON: That’s I have heard.
YOUNG RON:
Tom: Yeah.
PAUL: It is more interesting to be bad guy.
Tom: Well I think for an actor, it’s so complicated. All the actors
I grew up and watching and respecting are always bad guys. I grew up watching
Jack Nicolson in Batman, and Alan Richman is a great hero of mine. He is always
telling he is a great bad guy.
PAUL: Oh man, ”Die hard” right?
YOUNG RON: Robin Hood
YOUNG RON:
Tom: Robin Hood, yeah
Tom:
PAUL: Did you ever see Alan Richman in “Bottle shock”?
Tom: I never did.
Tom:我没有
PAUL: It’s a fantastic movie about wine.
PAUL: It is a story from 1970s when American wine was not considered
anything in world, and this Alan Richman’s character went to California and
found a Chardonnay, brought the people back to the great Wine contest tasting
it in Paris, and they won it.
Tom: Amazing.
PAUL: It was like a period piece. It’s really cool.
Tom: I will seek it out
Tom:
PAUL: Bottle shock
Tom: Bottle shock
YOUNG RON: How was working with Kenneth Branagh? You mentioned him.
I love that guy.
Tom: He is amazing. I have never met someone so passionate and
professional and curious. He is just an extraordinary artist.
YOUNG RON: Most of people know he is actor, but he is also a very good
YOUNG RON:
Tom: What’s interesting is, he is kind of break out. He was playing
Henry V, Shakespeare’s Henry V. He was nominated I think at age 27 for the academy
award in both the acting category and the directing category. He was nominated
for the best actor and the best director, because he directed himself.
PAUL: When you direct yourself, you were like”OK, got!! ”
Tom&YOUNG RON:(laugh)
Tom: It’s true.
Tom:真这样
Tom: Ehehehehe. Actually he said the best thing you direct yourself
was he could also edit himself. He could cut out all the awful acting he was
PAUL: The Avengers is going to be to Let’s probably saying the
biggest movie of the year
Tom: Well, it’s a big movie unquestionable
Tom:
PAUL: I mean look at the cast
Tom: The cast is just amazing.
Tom:
PAUL: Let’s just amuse just the girl here, Scarlett Johansson in
Tom: Just gorgeous! Such an amazing woman.
Tom:
PAUL: Nice?
PAUL: 可爱?
Tom: I am very respect.
Tom:
PAUL: Woody loves her.
Tom: Yeah, Woody loves her. And she is so grounded and so fun. She
was so nice to me, because we film the Avengers in Albuquerque in New Mexico.
PAUL: Oh, really?
Tom: And Scarlet was one of those
Tom:
PAUL: Shame, she gets from Paris to Albuquerque?
Tom: No I love it. We went to horse riding. It was OK. But Scarlet
was those kind of girl, I don’t know if it is specific gender thing? But she
love baking like I would go around of her house
PAUL: You were kidding me!
Tom: Like I come over, every time I went over there, she was like
Tom:
PAUL: I think she have an elf there to make her baking.
Tom: No, Seriously. Like I have made cookies, I
I have made old milk cream pies. I tell you she is one of the best bakers.
PAUL: How she keep her body?
KELLY: She doesn’t need it. She pushed to her fellow actor, that’s
Tom: Oh, but she was great, she was really
Tom:
PAUL: And Samuel L. Jackson, It sounds, you know, I think I’ve
spoken him on the phone like it would be real character hang around. Would you
say anything about him?
Tom: He is the coolest man on the world.
Tom:
PAUL: Yeah, OK, I am with you.
Tom: And he is so pro actually. He is one of professional actor I
have ever worked with.
PAUL: I mean look at the cast. Robert Downy Junior who is always
considered like the top 5 actor ever. I mean he is that good!
Tom: Yeah, he is a firebrand. I mean he just, his particular talent is
like, he is mercurial you know. You will never know what he gonna do the next.
And that’s thrilling.
PAUL: And these guys, you are like trained actor, I mean you are
real deal. These guys are methodic actors are extend characters, here about some
actors like Al Pacino, who will be that guy, and stay that guy throughout the
whole movie.
Tom: Well, in a movie like the Avengers, you will kind of hardly do
Tom:
PAUL: It will be weird.
Everybody is like”Stand back”
Tom: Because everybody is wearing spandex, capes, and cat suit.
Tom:
PAUL: Well, OK. It sounds like weekend year play with capes and
YOUNG RON: I don’t know this guy’s name. but I saw Captain America last
YOUNG RON:
Tom: Oh Chris Evans.
Tom:
YOUNG RON: Is that him?
YOUNG RON: 是他?
Tom: Yeah yeah
YOUNG RON: Not rehearsal. He is really good actor as well.
YOUNG RON:
Tom: He is terrific.
Tom:他很好
YOUNG RON: That was indeed for that movie.
YOUNG RON:
Tom: Yeah.
YOUNG RON: He is one of the avengers this time.
YOUNG RON:
Tom: Chris is fantastic. It’s one of hardest character in this movie
to pull off because he’s got very vanilla kind of old fashioned heroism, but
everybody else is so charismatic and of bit. But actually it comes of the end
Captain America was the only person who really cares about it. That’s
incredible simplicity that Chris brings on the table at that moment.
YOUNG RON: So that’s how to end the movie, it is the end of world?
YOUNG RON:
PAUL: Don’t tell the end of movie.
Tom: I will not tell… You know I would steal, and they should save
Tom:
YOUNG RON: Marvel
YOUNG RON: 漫威
PAUL: I should say it starts on Friday, Marvel’s the Avengers, and
we have Tom Hiddleston here, he is playing Loki and
Tom: He is the bad guy just by the way
Tom:
PAUL: We should like the people know that. Now you are in the room,
and you will be one of the best known actors very shortly. But let’s face it:
You weren’t jet
Tom: Oh, I am absolutely not
Tom:
PAUL: But what I want to gonna to say when you walk in the room with
the other guys who played Captain America, will your guys sit and go to “Look,
its Robert Downy Junior, it’s Scarlet Johansson over there , oh my …” Aren’t
your guy act not a little bit intimidated? Like Samuel L Jackson?
Tom: Oh absolutely. It’s all of us I think. We just stand in to be
in the same room. There were days when, there were a few days when the entirely
cast were together, and Joss Whedon who wrote and direct the film, there was only
days he have to use his school teacher voice.
PAUL: OH,now
Tom: Because it would become like “God what that costume made of? Is
that tight? Is that too tight? Is there wear nothing? And how is the ironman

Alan Richman ,
