含有否定表达的词类，知多少？：表达英语的否定形式可以有多种方法，而有时可以不直接用否定词，而用一些从形式上来看，并非否定的词。动词、名词、形容词、副词、连词以及介词都有一些此类的词。甚至有些句型表面上是肯定陈述的句子，但其本身却含有否定的含义。一起来看下面的句子，所有句子均是表面肯定，但却都表达否定的含义。

具有否定意义的动词
David failed to pass the Maths exam.
戴维没能通过数学考试。
Spare the rod and spoil the child.
不打不成材。
I doubt the truth of Tom&s words.
我不相信汤姆说的是真话。
The scene baffled all description.
景色无法描述。
We will miss the plane if we don&t hurry.

These misspellings escaped that secretary&s attention.

在以上这些句子中，副词 hardly, scarcely, barely, seldom, rarely, neither都含有否定的含义。
含有否定含义的连词
Unless he had arrived at five he could not have caught the air plane.

以上句中，连词unless, in case都起到了否定的作用。
含有否定含义的介词
His conduct has always been above suspicion.

以上句中，介词above, beneath, from, instead of, without, except都含有否定的含义，可以用来表达否定的概念。
有些词，加上否定含义的前、后缀可表示否定的含义
It is abnormal for a man to have six fingers on each hand.

This will disqualify him from taking part in the game.
