2L说对了，虚拟语态，所谓虚拟，就是假设，就是不真实。。Before the curtain rose,（条件）Anthony wished that he were back in bed.（虚拟）这句话说。anthony希望他能在床上，在curtain卷起之前。而事实上，他并没有在床上。所以就就是虚拟语态。e.g. If she were 白富美, （虚拟女神）I would marry her. （条件，纯屌丝）如果还不懂，百度虚拟语态。
二楼七楼说的都对，我再做补充: were型虚拟式在第一、三人称单数主语之后可为was所取代。但是在I were you 中were不能被was所取代，在某些倒装句中，也只能用were,不能用was,比如，Were I to do it,I should rely on you.还有，在as it were（作so to speak解，即“宛如”“好比”）结构中也中用were,不用was,例如，He is my best friend, my second half,as it were.参考资料：新编英语语法教程184页，主编是章振邦
所以楼主这句用was也是可以的，因为主语是第三人称单数。
离开高中很久了，记忆中中国中学英语教学关于虚拟语气并没强调was也可以使用，不能不说是种遗憾。。。
真没注意，平时直接was..很少用到。。

Attached please find the product catalog&&... 楼主你好，我认为你老板这样说并不太合适，你也不用太在意。英语交流主要是简洁，思路清晰，而不是什么狗屁语法。
上面的修改很好，你主要的问题不在语法，而是表达上欠佳，慢慢看些英语函电就会有所加强，祝你好运。

在沪江关注英语的沪友zhuweiwei502遇到了一个关于综合能力的疑惑，已有2人提出了自己的看法。
知识点疑惑描述：
1.Air travel has provided people with the opportunity to travel____.
(a) a large amount of miles
(b)much distance
(c)extensively
(d)wide rangingly
2.—Has your father arrived in Bombay yet?
—He probably arrived there sometime____.
(a)a week past
(b)the last week
(c)this past week

（1）为什么选C不选B或D，最好解释下B、D选项为什么不适合。
（2）为什么选C而不选B，有点奇怪

（4）为什么选A，其他选项是什么意思，还有much too 和too much，heat和hot的区别？

知识点相关讲解
&travel&在做“旅行”的意思时是一个不及物动词，因此后面只能加副词进行修饰，不能跟宾语，所以 B ”much distance&明显是一个名词性短语作宾语是错误的。而对于D “wide rangingly& 是一个形容词短语，”rangingly&修饰&wide&，表示”特别广阔&，不是副词性短语，所以不能修饰动词。而 D ”extensively&标准的副词，so...
(2) &the last week&是”最后的一周&的意思，要表示上周的话是&last week&，所以要是B 答案是”last week&就对了。 C ”this past week&是一个固定用法，有”上周；过去的一周”的意思，所以是正确的。
(3) 这道题考察的是only的位置问题，记住only作为副词的时候用在谓语动词的前面，例如： I only like you. 所以4个选项要表达的都是“她只有在波士顿有亲戚”，只是除B之外其他的次序位置错误了。
(4) 理解了这两对词的区别，你就能明白这道题了。
首先&much too& 和 &too much& 都是副词，但是用法有区别。 much too只能修饰形容词，并且放在形容词前面。 too much修饰动词表示程度很大很深，例如eat too much, sleep too much, 有“……太多”的意思。两个词组都有点贬义的感情色彩，指有点过。
其次，&hot& 和 &heat&比较容易，hot是形容词，heat是名词或者动词，没有形容词的意思。
综合两个解释，明白为什么选A了吧。 ：）
