加拿大建筑学专业比较好的名校有滑铁卢大学、麦吉尔大学、英属哥伦比亚大学、多伦多大学、蒙特利尔大学、曼尼托巴大学、达尔豪西大学等，加拿大建筑学专业名校是什么样的呢?

　1、 滑铁卢大学：
　　后起之秀，但是毫无疑问是加拿大如今公认的建筑本科老大。强大的COOP(最后一年可以去罗马实习)独领风骚。对学生要求很严，有当地学生平均分94依旧被拒。建筑系的面试和英语测试很有意思，曾经考过一篇艾略特关于宗教的文章，如果有足够的实力可以尝试一下。
　　成绩要求：IELTS 7.5 ，托福 100，由于没有申请所以不太了解对高中成绩的要求，需要作品集。
　　提供学位：BA Architecture(另一说法是BAS)
　　2、 多伦多大学 ：
　　很喜欢其的课程安排，丰富多彩，尤其是Vic的小班课程。多伦多大学的建筑优势集中在研究生院(A&LD)本科的建筑属于文理学院，口碑不太好，很大一部分是由于本科与工作室无缘，过于书面化，但是这个也是见仁见智的。而且就在最近Daniels对它赞助了14 million $，直接导致了A&LD冠上了他的大名。研究生们可以考虑下。
　　成绩要求：IELTS 6.5，托福90，高中成绩自我感觉需要在90以上，不要求作品集。
　　提供学位：BA Architecture
　　3、 麦吉尔大学：
　　很传统的一所学校，对学生要求也很苛刻，根据前辈的描述每年只招36个人，而且国际上也有些名气(主要靠他在建筑方面的博士研究课题)。但是这几年确实有些被overwhelmed的嫌疑。
　　成绩要求：IELTS 6.5，托福90，高中成绩自我感觉需要在90以上，要求作品集。
　　提供学位：BS Architecture
　　4、 卡尔顿大学 ：
　　在Archinect上发觉加拿大当地人很喜欢这所学校，虽然整体排名不靠前但是建筑系很强。卡尔顿大学Carleton的建筑偏艺术类，有牛人赞助，也是加拿大少有的提供BArch学位的学校(可以凭它去考注)。
　　成绩要求：对作品集要求很高很艺术，其他不详。
　　提供学位：Barch

It means developing an understanding of society itself and how the buildings where people live, work, and worship facilitate a sense of community.——University of Notre Dame由于美国大学本科阶段非常强调通识教育，所以大多数美国大学的建筑学专业，除了学习建筑学相关的专业课程，学生还要学人文、社科和自然科学方面的知识。数学和物理课程是建筑专业学生必须要学习的课程。美国的建筑学课程所涉及学科非常广泛，各院校的侧重也不同，但核心课程大多是围绕着与环境、城市、建筑史和理论、实务而展开的。除了学习重要的理论知识，学习建筑学还有一个关键的部分就是Studio。Studio为学生提供实际操作的机会，将自己的想法和创意利用模型和图像表现出来。如果未来想成为一名注册建筑师，那么B.Arch是首选。如果职业目标是成为室内设计师或者景观建筑师，那么在本科阶段可以选择就读BS/BA in Architecture。如果今后也想成为注册建筑师，那么就需要继续攻读建筑硕士（Master of Architecture）。BS/BA和B.Arch通常都会学习相同的入门课程，包括建筑史、建筑设计类课程，有些学校这么做的目的是给BS的学生在完成前两年的学习后提供转入B.Arch的机会。继续留在BS就读的学生会上建筑电脑绘图、结构与环境类课程。B.Arch学生的学习重点更多在于专业设计类课程。申请前要做的调研o专业是否被NAAB认证?o教授的背景和理念；教授设计过哪些作品？o该建筑系是偏studio-art还是 engineering?o了解和欣赏在读学生的作品o班级人数ostudio是否可以长期使用？o计算机在studio courses中的角色是什么?选校时看综排还是专排？美国并没有本科建筑学专业的官方排名，大家在选校时一般参考较多的是Design Intelligence做的America's Top Architecture Schools排名。因为美国的城市化进程早已结束，城市人口饱和的情况下，建筑专业的需求已经不大。美国不少顶尖大学的本科已经取消了建筑专业或者不再开设5年的B.Arch。建筑系在大学里经常是相对独立的，它的发展与这个院的建立者、历年的教授等都有很深的关系；另外，建筑是一门综合的学科，它包括着艺术、物理、数学、社会科学等等方面的知识，因此一般来说LAC很难有很好的建筑学院，好的建筑系主要集中在综合性大学和一些专门的艺术类学校。大家在本科选校时常参考的US News在本科建筑学选校时不一定适用，弍例子，综合排名较低的Iowa State University, 实际上建筑学相关专业实力是非常强的。所以，选校时要根据实际情况，综合考量。如何提升背景？学术背景提升：1. 争取优秀的语言和标准化考试成绩；2. 选择有帮助的高中课程：Computer-assisted draftingAP Art HistoryStudio artPhotographyDrafting/technical drawingComputer/graphic arts活动背景提升：可以体现动手能力和创意的活动；体现团队协作能力的活动；绘画、写生、摄影等；建筑相关的Summer School；建筑事务所实习等；如何申请？多数学校的建筑学专业本科的申请都是统一通过本科招生办公室来进行的，申请的要求和程序和学校里的其他本科专业无差别。也有个别的学校是由建筑学院来参与审理材料。有的学校申请freshman的时候就可以选择建筑学方向，也有的学校规定只能到了大二或大三的时候才能选择建筑学，前两年要进行通识课程的学习。有的学校会有作品集和面试的要求。准备Portfolio的建议不是每一个学校都需要，但我建议申请建筑的同学有能力的话都准备下。偏艺术设计的项目，以及艺术院校通常要求或推荐提交portfolio。每件作品都要有Description：告诉学校你的灵感，你的创意来源。Portfolio Requirement:Samples of freehand drawing are required. In addition to drawings, you may include a variety of work for your portfolio choosing from media such as painting, sculpture, graphics, art photography, woodworking, ceramics, or any other visual media that demonstrate your interest, experience, and aptitude in creative and graphic areas.
