宁夏政府日前发布公告称，按照钢铁煤炭行业化解过剩产能和脱困发展工作部际联席会议办公室《关于做好钢铁煤炭行业化解过剩产能验收工作的通知》要求，宁夏发展和改革委员会组织宁夏财政厅、人力资源社会保障厅、国土资源厅、公安厅、安监局、金融工作局、宁夏煤矿安全监察局和国网宁夏电力公司，对2016年关闭的8处煤矿按照关闭标准进行了现场检查和验收，经验收这8处煤矿达到了国家关闭标准。
消息显示，这8处煤矿分别为：宁夏中卫市北山天卫煤矿、宁夏中卫市红育煤矿、宁夏中卫市常乐镇第二煤矿、宁夏中卫市甘塘镇煤矿、中卫市东园镇单梁山煤矿、宁夏中卫市单梁山沙渠远兴煤矿、宁夏红寺堡石炭沟煤矿、宁夏泰山阳光能源开发有限公司芦草井沟煤矿。
上述关闭退出煤矿累计退出产能107万吨，关闭时间为8-10月之间。
按照宁夏化解煤炭过剩产能工作安排，2016年全区关闭退出煤矿8处，其中中卫市关闭退出煤矿6处，年产能32万吨。根据《中卫市煤矿关闭退出工作实施方案》，计划今年8月份关闭3处。
《宁夏煤矿关闭退出工作实施方案》提出，2016年底前宁夏将关闭退出煤矿8处，产能107万吨/年；2018年底前再关闭退出煤矿1处，产能15万吨/年。

2016年中国煤炭供给侧改革整体看，国家调控政策是从严格限产到逐步释产。从供给端看，随着安全合法产能供暖季内的释放，供应偏紧将逐渐走向供需平衡，11月份的煤炭产量升至近8个月高点。

国家安监总局14日发布消息称，国务院安委会办公室近日发布了2016年第二批终身不得担任煤炭行业的矿长（董事长、总经理）人员名单，迄今为止一共发布了三批矿长“黑名单”，第一批13人，第二批9人，本次为15人。
此次9家生产企业被曝光，按规定被纳入“黑名单”管理，并推送至全国信用信息共享平台，相关部门将对其开展联合惩戒。

12月14日，国家统计局公布2016年12月上旬流通领域重要生产资料市场价格变动情况，数据显示，12月上旬，国内二级冶金焦价格报1999.2元/吨，与上期相比，下跌20.6元/吨，环比下降1%，今年7月末以来首次下跌。
