Degeneration of Methyl Red on Iron-Doping Anatase TiO_2 Under Ultraviolet Light

The degeneration of methyl red on as-prepared iron-doping anatase TiO2 under ultraviolet light(λ=365nm) was studied,the effects of initial concentration of methyl red,Fe3+-TiO2 dose,iron-doping dose,illumination time and initial pH value on the degradation of methyl red were examined.Experiment results show that the degeneration rate of methyl red is 99.21% under the conditions of methyl red mass concentration 15 mg/L(pH=5),iron-doping TiO2 dosage 0.7 g/L,Fe3+-doping amount 1%(mole ratio) and illumination time 30 min by ultraviolet light at room temperature.

The optical properties and surface morphologies of the fabricated TiO_2 and Ag-doped TiO_2 thin films were characterized by means of UV-VIS spectrophotometer and Atomic force microscopy(AFM).The photocatalytic activities of above thin films doped TiO_2 photocatalysts,microwave field-assisted method as well as the combination of doping technique and microwave field-assisted method were studied.The combination of doping technique and microwave field-assisted method can effectively enhance photocatalytic degradation effect of TiO_2 photocatalyst compared with single doping and microwave field-assisted method.

Photocatalytic Degradation of Metronidazole in Wastewater by TiO_2

Low concentration metronidazole solutions were used as model pollutant photocatalytic degradation of metronidazole in wastewater by TiO_2 photocatalyst was invstigated.With 5.0mL 60μmol/L metronidazole solution as degradation target,the influences of Cu~(2+) concentration,pH value,irradiation time,TiO_2 dosage on degradation rate of metronidazole were studied.The results showed that the amounts of 60μmol/L initial concentration of metronidazole solution,50mg/L H_2O_2, 225μmol/L Cu~(2+) were respectively taken 5.OmL to react,finally,the average degradation rate was up to 91.87%with experimental conditions such as pH≈3.0,irradiation time of 75min,TiO_2 dosage of 4.12mg.
