WATER TEMPERATURE HU-LI-T?AO (PULANTIEN CHIANG)
TODAY, MONDAY, 23 OCTOBER 2017
The effects of Water Temperature
Fish are cold blooded, which means their metabolism is strongly influenced by the temperature of their surrounding environment. Fish want to stay comfortable. Consequently, even a small change or break will cause fish to move from one location to another.
In general, this behavior varies for each species and place, so we can not specify an ideal water temperature, however as a general rule we will try to avoid the temperatures abnormally cold in summer and too warm in winter. Remember, look for the comfort zones and you will find the fish.

Significant wave height
It is normal for waves to vary in height from one to the next. To give you an idea of the range of waves to expect at a given time, we consider the significant wave height as the average height of the highest third of the waves in the open sea.
The significant wave height provides an estimation of wave heights recorded by a trained observer from a fixed point at sea because we tend to pay more attention to the larger waves.

IT'S neither trick nor treat this Halloween Day for patrons of the popular Ming Tien food court in Taman Megah, Petaling Jaya.
Come Oct 31, the 17-year-old open-air food court will cease operations.
The neighbouring Taman Megah badminton hall and souvenir shop will also be closed to make way for a mixed development project.
StarMetro spoke to customers and traders affected by the closure as well as regular badminton players at the nearby hall.
Residents, too, had their say on the planned development there.

Jenny Tan and her husband Vincent Lim have been running Vince Penang Grill Fish at Ming Tien for 17 years & the same duration the food court has been open.
&We have been in business for 27 years, having previously operated at a coffeeshop in SS2,& said Tan.
&We get a lot of Chinese, Indian and Malay customers.
&Malay customers enjoy our grilled fish and seafood dishes as they know we do not use non-halal ingredients.
&We have been verbally told that the relocation will be towards the year-end and the unconfirmed location is near Cheras Leisure Mall.
&Some of my fellow hawkers plan to move with Ming Tien to its new location, some will relocate to other places nearer to their homes, while the rest plan to retire,& she said.
Moy Qin, who sells fish head and seafood curry, is undecided on where to move.
Many of the hawkers at Ming Tien food court have been running their businesses there since it opened 17 years ago.
&I am sad about the closure, but there is no choice,& said the 50-year-old who has been in business for over 10 years.
A Ming Tien food court supervisor, who wanted to be known as Chin, said about 80% of the existing hawkers are expected to move to the new place.
&I am unclear about the details, such as the last day of operations and new location, as all these depend on my boss,& he said.
Chin said Ming Tien is open round the clock, with over 60 stalls catering to different dining hours & breakfast and lunch, or dinner and supper.
Adeline Ooi and husband Tony Cheah went to the food court last weekend on learning of its impending closure online.
&We used to visit regularly with relatives and friends.
&We enjoy the ambience and the varieties of food, which cannot be found anywhere else in Petaling Jaya,& said Ooi, who was busy taking photos to capture memories of the place.
&We usually order several dishes to share and dine as a group,& said Cheah, who especially enjoyed the Vietnamese beef noodles and wan tan mee.
The couple, who live in Damansara Perdana, said they are unlikely to go to Cheras should Ming Tien relocate there.
Cheah (right) and Ooi visited Ming Tien last weekend, upon finding out about the food court&s closure online.
Chew Keng Wee and Carol Ho are unhappy about Ming Tien&s impending closure, as they like the convenience and variety the food court offered.
&It is a nice place to have meals at night. Ming Tien is always crowded, whether on weekends or weekdays,& said the couple, who visit the food court once a month.
Chew particularly enjoys the seafood curry, which he said was reasonably priced and came in generous portions.
&I also like to order loh bak, Thai food or grilled fish.
&We have brought relatives from Kuching to dine at Ming Tien and they enjoyed it.
&It will be difficult to find a similar food court that offers such good variety under one roof,& said Chew.
&Ming Tien was a gathering spot for my two groups of friends & badminton players and church youth mates.
&When we decide to yum cha, we usually end up going to Ming Tien,& said Chua Soo Han, who worships at a church nearby.
&The food court&s location is also quite central.
&My friends and I live in different places, so we like to gather at Ming Tien.
&It is famous and people recognise it as a landmark.&
The Taman Megah badminton hall which has 16 badminton courts will also be closed to make way for the mixed development project.
Badminton players
Cousins Prem Kumar and SG Mohan, both engineers, have been playing badminton at the Taman Megah badminton hall for about 10 years.
Prem, 39, said two generations of family members would meet for two hours, every Saturday, to play badminton.
&Our routine is to play badminton at the hall, then have dinner at the food court.
&We like playing here because there are many courts and ample parking space,& said Mohan, 43,
The cousins said they planned to continue their weekly game at a different court in Kampung Sungai Kayu Ara, but would miss the convenience and camaraderie offered at the Taman Megah badminton hall.Related stories:

SaltwaterFish nemo=new SaltwaterFish();
if(nemo instanceof Fish){
////因为SaltwaterFish是Fish的子类,注意这里判断式结果是:nemo 是 Fish的对象,即首先得到////nemo是鱼
if(nemo instanceof SaltwaterFish){
////&&.进而判断是不是咸水鱼
void checkforTextView(View v)
if(v instanceof TextView)
///如果是TextView的控件会怎样怎样。。
////如果不是TextView的控件又该怎样
然而,根据上面实现的功能我们很容易想到多态,instanceof的做法显然没有好好利用面向对象中的多态性,回到了结构化编程模式。所以,在绝大多数情况下instanceof并不是推荐的做法,应当好好利用多态。

What are the 7 main types of Nutrients?
1. protein
2.carbohydrates
6.vitamins
7.minerals
Nutrients provide materials for......?
- producing energy
- enabling growth
- maintaining and repairing body tissue
-regulating body tissue
-preventing diseases
What is Macronutrients?
(proteins, carbs, and fats)
a nutrient that is needed by the body in relatively large amounts.
What is Micronutrients?
(vitamins and minerals)
a nutrient that is required by the body in small amounts.
- is made of amino acids and aid in the creation of red blood cells enabling energy to be released.
- function: nessacry for groth, maintenace, and repair body tissue
- required for bone lengthening and hardnening that takes place during youth
Portein #2
-protein is important for the increase in number and size of cells in the body and is required for the rapid growth of soft tissue such as organ and muscle tissue
- protein is found in blood and preforms many different functions which one of them is the formation of haemoglobin
- protein base collagen forms a basis of connected tissue of bones, cartlidge and teeth.
sources of protein
carbohydrates
function: bodys most important sorce of energy
- Cateogories into 3
1. simple carbohydrates ( mono, disacch, poly)
2. Complex carbs (nurtient dense foods providing vitamins for energy release)
- when there is insufficient carbs amino acids from proteins will be converted into proteins
- important for the energy needed for the proper development of muscles, nerve and tissue
sources of carbohydrates
-brown rice
-whole wheat pasta
Carbohydrates #2
-Glycaemic index (GI): index that ranks (low, moderate, high) a food containing carbohydrate by the spped at which the food raises blood glucose once eaten
- Low GI foods: contain carbohydrates that are digested slowly and release their glucose over a long period of time
- High GI foods: contain carbohydrates that are digested quickly and release their glucose in a short period of time.
- a type of complex carbohydrate that the body does not digest (not used in the production of energy.
- function: important in slowing down digestion in the small intestines and keeps the digestive track healthy and working regular
main types of fibre
insoluble, soluble (single sugar bonds not broken by digestive enzymes), plus resisant starch ( it is left undigested)
sources of fibre
insoluble: -vegetables, fruits, wholegrain, cereals and seeds.
Soluble: Cirtus fruit, oat products, barley, legumus
fats (also known as lipids) are a complex carbohydrate and are used at times of high energy
Three main types of fats:
1. saturated (bad fats/animal fat...eggs, fatty meat,palm oils)
2. unsaturated fats (good fats/ nuts and olive oil) this includes polyunsaturated, monosaturated (vegetables oils, fish oil, some nuts)
3.transfats (ugly fats/deep fried foods, cakes, biscuits, margarine)
Functions of fat
Nesscary to provide and store energy in the body, help in the absorbtion of fats-soluble
vitamins,A,D,E and K and provide esstential fatty acids for cell mebrane
-Part of the cell membranes allowing fat-soluble substances to move in and out of the cell and is required for production of vitamin D, some hormonesand bile sources.
Cholesterol
Is a fat (not a triglyceride)
made by the liver and eaten in foods from animal sources.
Is an essential component of all body tissues and an important part of every function of the body
Function of water
Digestion, transport, lubrication and elimination
- A person can only survive afew days without water
Source of water
water-rich foods,for example fruits,vegetables
they are organic substances
functions of vitamins
ensure optimal health, growth and functioning of the body and work with enzymes to speed up chemical reactions,for example energy production
two main groupsof vitamins
Fat-soluble vitamins: (dissolved in fats)
A,D,E,K are found in fatty and oily foods
Water-soluble vitamins (dissolve in water): eight B-group vitamins - including B6 (pyridoxine) and B12 (cobalamin) , thiamin (B1), riboflavin (b2), niacin (b3) - C folate.
Function of Vitamin C
- important in the formation of collagen along with protein
- vitamin C is essential for the health of gums and blood vesicles
- helps with the transport and absorption of iron in the small intestines
sources of vitamin C
citrus fruits
vegetables (potatoes, broccoli and dark green veges)
group B vitamins
- helps release energy from carbohydrates, fats, and protein and are important in the use of activity for activity growth
- B9 (folate) and B12 (cobalamin) is required for cell division and formation and is necessary for synthesizing of protein used for connection tissue development
sources of vitamin B
-low fat dairy
- needed for new cell formation in many tissues, helps with reproduction and to ensure normal vision and reduces susceptibility to infection
-has a role in the normal cell development
- and its found in the liver
sources of vitamin A
